One of the only flowers you will find on the beach is the sea rocket. It has lovely pale pink flowers and very fleshy (or succulent) leaves, which help to store water.
It is one of the first plants to grow in places like beaches that most plants could not survive on.
It has a very long root to search out for water in the sand, and it can survive being buried in the sand after a storm. It is one of the very few plants that is perfectly at home where the sea meets the land.
