Sand Mason Worm
Link to Sand and Mud Shore Animals
This worm feeds by spreading its branched tentacles and catching whatever it can. To support its tentacles it builds a tree-like structure made of glued-together sand and shell fragments. When the tide is out the worm retreats underground but the empty supporting structure remains above ground and is easily visible.
