Elephants Ear Sponge
Link to Rocky Seabed Animals
This grey sponge is common in areas where there is clean water with lots of movement, such as headlands and rocky areas on the west coast. The lobed shape of the sponge can, with a little imagination, sometimes resemble the ear of an elephant, hence its name.
