Ballan Wrasse
This is the biggest of the wrasse, and like the cuckoo wrasse, prefers to live around bedrock and boulders in clear water. Like the cuckoo, it has big teeth that allow it to crunch up sea snails and small crustaceans. Ballan wrasse often have a striking checkered pattern on their flanks, and live in family groups.
