Wild Harris

Norwegian Topknot

This is the only flatfish that prefers to live on a rocky seabed; most prefer sand or mud. Like all flatfish it begins life as a normal looking fish, but as it matures one of the eyes moves around the head until both are on the same side. The fish rests on its right side, which becomes white, while the left upper side is expertly camouflaged to match the fish’s background.
