The name of this flower describes the seed pods – each one has a hook on the end so that it looks like a bird’s foot. It has lots of other names – like ‘eggs and bacon’ and ‘granny’s toe nails’!

The yellow flowers come in all different shades, and can have streaks of red on them.

Bees, wasps and butterflies all love this flower – and if you want to see lots of butterflies then just find a patch of birdsfoot trefoil and sit and watch!
