Easaigh

Nowadays, although grazed by sheep and a few cows, the small island of Easaigh ('Ensay' in English) is uninhabited. Even its big house, Taigh Easaigh, and the nearby chapel have an abandoned air. But its history is a fascinating one. In both medieval and more recent times this island was a well-farmed land, producing a very good rent for the proprietor.
