Past & Present

Ceileagraigh

Like its neighbour Easaigh to the north, Ceileagraigh (Killegray in English) is a small, green and verdant isle that is uninhabited today. Although historically it was the less valued of the two islands, unlike Easaigh there is no air of abandonment now. About 25 years ago the owners renovated the late-18th century farmhouse and still occasionally stay there.

Exploring the island is quite atmospheric: its simple landscape, varied coastal edge, and slight traces of the families who used to stay here 200 years ago and more.
